Easily recognised by their distinctive turquoise sweatshirts, Beaver Scouts enjoy making friends, playing games, going on visits and helping others. They meet together once a week in a Beaver Scout Colony.

Beavers is the perfect introduction to Scouting, and a great way for young people to start socialising and going out and doing new things. We are always on the lookout for new Beaver Scouts, so please contact us and we will be delighted to welcome you straight away!

What We Do

Beaver Sleepover 2013Our Beavers Scouts play an active role in the group and regularly attend group and district events that allow them to get a feel for what is ahead in Cubs, Scouts and Explorer Scouts whilst enjoying themselves along the way.

Much like the other sections, Beavers are able to take part in both group and district activities, games and residential experiences in order to achieve challenge and activity badges. Ultimately the goal is for a Beaver to complete his/her chief Scout’s Bronze Award before moving on to the Cubs section.

Beavers - Road SafetyOur Beavers are encouraged to go away to sleepovers with the colony, where they are able to take part in a wide variety of exciting activities along with the other members of the section. For lots of Beavers these tend to be their first opportunities to spend a night away from home and can be their first steps towards becoming independent individuals as they start to grow up. More than anything however, they get to go outdoors and have a great time!
