Community Day 2014
The 2014 community fun day, organised by St Andrew’s Church took place today in the baking sunshine. Leaders from our Beavers, Scouts and Explorers sections came down to King’s Meadows for an early start to get setup. Having put up our marquee and mess tent for the church to use we set about putting up our event shelter for a day of cake decorating with the children (and big kids!) of the local area.
With the help of some of the leaders and Scouts, some 100+ cakes were decorated in all manner of colours and flavours of icing, sugar shapes and chocolate treats. The event had a huge turnout from the local community and was a great success.
Thanks to all of the leaders and Scouts who came down and took part. Thanks also to the Explorer Scouts for baking the cakes.
