Cubs’ at The National Gallery
Today we took the Cubs on a day trip to the National Gallery to complete the work that they have been doing towards their Artist and Creative Challenge badges.
We began the day by meeting up at Grove park station and travelled to Charing Cross by train. Once we had arrived we made our way by foot to the gallery, which is just round the corner from the station. Once we’d been into the gallery the cubs then spent some time at Trafalgar Square drawing, hopefully drawing from new artistic inspiration.
Taking full advantage of the good weather, we made our way to Horse Guards where the Cubs had their pictures taken with the guards and police officers on duty. We were also fortunate enough to be in time to watch the changing of the guards. We then headed over to St. James Park where we had lunch.
After lunch we walked through the park to Buckingham Palace where the cubs did some more sketches.
We finished the day with some free time in in the park before the parents collected them.
