Maasai Chieftain Visits the Beavers

Maasai_Visit_03The Beavers enjoyed an African cultural evening with a Maasai Chieftain, who had visited us with his wife all the way from Kenya, learning how to say hello and also how to count to 10 in their native language. The Beavers also learnt about the different traditions in the Maasai culture and how the Maasai people live. Chieftain Joseph and his wife then showed the children how to make their own Maasai jewellery and each Beaver was able to make one to take home with them.

Maasai_Visit_01Chieftain Joseph was in the South East of London visiting Scouting sections to raise awareness and money for his village’s school and health care provision.
